Chelsea’s scoreless draw with Arsenal on Sunday wasn’t exactly a Premier League classic. The two 3-4-3 systems essentially cancelled each other out and neither goalkeeper was truly tested.
One player who did seem to make a difference, however, was Chelsea’s summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko, who entered the fray at half-time after an underwhelming first 45 minutes from the Blues.
Indeed, the one-cap Frenchman finished up with one shot, one chance created, three successful dribbles and one interception to his name, while completing 100% of his passes.
As arguably the only real positive Chelsea could take from the stalemate barring Eden Hazard picking up a few more minutes following his injury layoff, perhaps it should be no surprise that Bakayoko won our Man of the Match poll – albeit not by a conclusive majority.
Indeed, the 22-year-old summer signing picked up 38% of the vote, ranking ahead of the likes of Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante.
